VARIOUS ARTISTS: Boycott Radical Records
A label sampler (Radical Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Probably one of the funnier press campaigns I've seen, Radical Records has sent out press releases from people claiming that the label is "evil" and to boycott them. Though the joke is good for a few laughs, it all boils down to the music, and the New York-based punk/OI! indie label has that.

This label sampler contains twenty-five tracks of previously released material that helps represent just what their label is all about. Pogo-punk champs Blanks 77 start it off and Inspecter 7 delivers the Oi-ska to get you dancing and drinking. All while The Agents, The Cuffs, Social Scare, Road Rage, and I.C.U. get the blood pumping with vigorous, non-stop punk excitement. A few tracks from Blanks 77 give you more of your favorite, while a few more cuts from Inspecter 7 and Sturgeon General get you dancing.

As a compilation goes, this disc is very well rounded and focused. Better yet, as a label sampler, it is even better. Here is a great taste of what this label is all about. I'll give it a B.
