Teardown
Persona Non Grata (Demo)

By: Jeb Branin

There is something to be said for being deliberate and pounding when a band is playing new breed metal but by the same token if a band gets too deliberate they have a tendency to get predictable and repetitive. TEARDOWN do exactly that much of the time throughout this demo. But before I write this off as a "nice try but no cigar" I gotta say that the band shows flashes of brilliance. For example, there is a change up where they go absolutely out of control. Their sound gets flailing, almost as if they are about to go completely over the top. It makes them sound dangerous and harsh and unpredictable... a very nice change from their standard delivery. The production is not bad for a demo and the tape layout and packaging is top notch. If you are into collecting demos or are into South American metal this is definitely worth checking out but it isn't going to really turn very many heads.
