Buried Alive Last Rites (Victory Records) By: Jeb Branin

Without a doubt BURIED ALIVE is one of my favorite Victory bands. Like NO INNOCENT VICTIM they have nearly perfected the metalcore sound - and they do so by combining equally influences from thrash hatecore, death metal and chugga-chugga sXe. They also demonstrate that while hatred and anger are vital elements of this bone crushing style of music, prejudice and tough-guy histrionics are not. "Last Rites" combines an albums worth of studio tracks and a eps worth of live barnstormers as well. Not surprisingly each and every song on here will rattle your teeth and is executed with a virulent proficiency.
