Amanda Thorpe Mass (Cropduster) By: Alex Steininger
Dark, silky pop songs that are bare, Amanda Thorpe delivers pure emotion and sincerity on Mass, a versatile album capable of capturing the Lillith Fair crowd as well as rockers alike. The secret rests in Thorpe's ability to deliver an edgy sound alongside tight, powered up folk-pop. The result is a fascinating collage of feeling and emotions - both musical and mental - which tangle up the listener and keep them listening throughout. I'll give it a B+.
