The Shazam The Shazam (Not Lame) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
Crunchy, guitar-driven power-pop with a fierce bite and warm vocal harmonies, The Shazam's self-titled debut, re-released on Not Lame, is one of the best power-pop albums of the year, zigging and zagging, hooking you on a rough melody and then smoothing everything over with some easy-going pop. The Shazam have the style, the moves, and the talent to make your jaw drop and your ears scream in excitement. I'll give this an A-.
