Melee/The Cancer Kids Split 7" (Endless Knot Records/Social Napalm Records) By: jebb

This is the kind of record I love to get. MELEE play a rough and tumble brand of thrash with a hefty 80s hardcore influence. It is raw, punishing and chaotic most of the time and then it will break down with a mega-heavy chugga-chugga groove that reminds me of a lot of the legendary BROTHERHOOD. Very, very good stuff. THE CANCER KIDS also have a lot of 80s influences but their music is more hyper and frantic. There seems to be a lot of classic hatecore vibes ala NEGATIVE F/X and NEGATIVE APPROACH. I've never heard anything from either of these bands before but I damn well will pay attention in the future!! Consider this highly recommended.
