Dewey Defeats Truman The Road To Nowhere Maps E.P. (Has Anyone Ever Told You?) By: Alex Steininger
Dewey Defeats Truman plays standard rock music like many other indie rock bands. There is nothing new or special about them. However, their songs are energetic, catchy, and chalk full of loose, but engaging melodies and unbeatable passion, evident from the vocals. You get a sense they feel everything they're singing about. And that makes all the difference for me. From the mid-tempo "Fly Below The Radar", with its emo-esque traits, to the rawness of "Die Remora," the band cranks out little rock nuggets that indie rockers will enjoy. I'll give it a B.
