The Superbees
High Volume (Acetate Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Updated 70's rock with nothing but energy running through their veins. The Superbees' High Volume is high volume rock. Lead guitars ensuring the songs sound beefy, while the lead singer snarls the words in a sexy drawl, sexy in the way that Jagger was, with you hanging on his every word, the dirty, dangerous way he spells out the lines making you follow blindly. This is wicked, wild times, party-minded nothing-but-the-goods rock music, loud, fun, and in your face. They're not trying to do anything new or special, they just want to get out there, play away, and have a good time, offering up something fans can bite into and taste the spices, still enjoying its mysteriousness and curious taste. Flat out, this is what rock 'n' roll should be and this is what it was before rock radio tried to kill the sound. Good thing people like The Superbees don't listen to the radio and relive their favorite records each night on stage. I'll give this an A-.
