Mickey Hampshire & The Masonics' Silently By Night CD is a collection of sixteen melody-deprived, play-it-loud garage songs that strip away any outside influences and play it straight and true. Strumming their guitars and drenching the songs with organ while the fuzzy vocals chime in and lead the songs through hip-shaking, danceable grooves, you get exactly what you'd expect. If you like your garage-rock plain, but honest, this is your ticket. I'll give it a C+.
