 Say Hi To Your Mom is Eric Elbogen, a singer-songwriter who recorded and mixed Discosadness in his bedroom on a hand-built binary box and 4-track cassette recorder. Despite the relatively bare bones recording method, Elbogen manages to create a laid-back collection of mid-fi indie-pop, leaning more towards the slumbering side of the spectrum, while still delivering enjoyable melodies that make you want to hum along. Whether he's playing up the melodies or having the melodies chase him, he always ensures the songs are capable of winning you over without forcing it. From the whispery to the more upbeat, the album goes from the dark to the light, the whimsical to the serious, smiling throughout it all. I'll give it a B+.
