Prong
100% Live (Locomotive Music)

By: Jeb Branin

OH YEAH! I've always had a "thing" for PRONG. From "Primitive Origins" era to "Beg To Differ"/"Prove You Wrong" era to now. Sure the "reformed" band has only Tommy and a bunch of new guys, but I don't really care. PRONG was way before their time. They ruled the underground when industrial flavored metal/hardcore was just starting to become all the rage and had broken up by the time a million lesser bands took the formula and rode it to multi-platinum riches. In other words, their leaky boat never quite came in. Too bad, because there isn't another band out there that has mastered the buzzsaw, stop-and-go riffs like PRONG. Hell, I once put a PRONG record on the shelf next to a BIOHAZARD record and the BIOHAZARD record started to cry for its mommy. This live CD probably isn't very "live" but again I don't care. Any day I can listen to "Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck" is a good day. I once used my "credentials" as a "rock journalist" (if you know me, you know how funny this is) to get invited to a private party with PRONG. I spent the time with a buddy of mine stealing PRONG posters off the walls and acting like a dork in finding out from the band if my copy of "Primitive Origins" is a first-pressing. It is. There is a new album in the works. I'm already there, sucka.
