Parker And Lily
Here Comes Winter (Manifesto)

By: Cam Lindsay

Parker Noone and Lily Wolfe are a unique duo that conduct a symphony for the lonely and desolate. Here Comes Winter, their second album, sounds like a funeral thrown by a cruel, sadistic, old prankster. Led by an old organ that sounds like it's on its last legs, Here Comes Winter is a mysterious album filled with simple little pop songs and a few spaced out instrumentals. It's rather loopy and strange, like an episode of Twin Peaks, yet from time to time, it's reminiscent of artists like Magnetic Fields and Tindersticks, if say, they could take a joke for once. Parker And Lily make some beautiful hypnotic noise that's perfect for late night reading music.
