Daniel Lanois Shine (Epitaph/Anti) By: Alex Steininger
![](/images/sep.gif)
On his third solo album, and first in over a decade, influential producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Emmylou Harris, Bob Dylan, and Peter Gabriel) creates spacious, yet layered textures of sounds and styles, delivering a cohesive, strong record that flows almost as natural as water. Laden with spirituality, mostly within, Lanois writes deeply confessional songs while looking outward, delivering the words in a light, airy, and almost ready to float away body that is as soothing as it is healing. Quite relaxing, to say the least. I'll give it a B+.
