 On their third full-length, Yours, Mine & Ours, Pernice Brothers, who now call their own Ashmont Records home, release a masterpiece. Lush, vibrant pop songs chalk full of emotion, depth, and relevance, Yours, Mine & Ours is one of the year's best records. At times sullen, and other times optimistic, front man Joe Pernice leads his band through sweet, warm-to-the-touch pop territory, crafting majestic, gorgeous, and oft-times ah-inspiring pop smarts while backing it all up with substantial lyrics. Never is there a lull or a down time; the Pernice Brothers work too hard, and put too much of themselves into these songs, to allow the listener any inconvenience, or even songs they'll later forget. Memorable and full of merit, Yours, Mine & Ours is a phenomenal release. I'll give it an A+.
