Pete Miser Radio Free Brooklyn (Ho-Made Media) By: Alex Steininger

New York-by-way-of-Portland hip-hopper Pete Miser, off of his worldwide tour playing in Dido's band, delivers his sophomore record, Radio Free Brooklyn. More East Coast than West Coast, and a lot more alternative, jazz influenced than his gansta-tingled debut, What It Be, Miser raises the bar and answers his own call. More sophisticated and less encrypted, this latest chapter in his hip-hop career is his best; a jazzy, beat-heavy, danceable record that tackles issues of war, racism, greed, and American life. A reflection of his own self, Radio Free Brooklyn is both eerie and delightful, a fine line it walks that make for a tight, infectious record that will become one of your favorite 'dance' records of the year. I'll give it a B.
