Airport Noises
Last Flight In (Dog Day)

By: Gary "Pig" Gold

Nothing more, and thankfully nothing less than one great big discful of fast, fun, frantic (for starters, just sample that snare on "Page 13"!) and frenetic P-o-p, all of the most decidedly bedroom-cum-basement variety.

Jeez, where should I even start?? "Little Miss Trendy," with its delightful post-Police vanilla reggae, then the Farfisa-flavored "Happy Vacant Stares" are the easiest, earliest winners herein: Seldom-heard new-wavey nuggets totally buoyed by the Everlys-thru-20/20 vocal duets of Ronnie Dannelley.

But then there's U-turns aplenty apparent throughout the most-ironically-titled "Happy Song" (if ever there should be a poster song for our current daze of Homeland Insecurity, THIS IS IT) and the equally prophetic "Nightmare Radio" (which must be uploaded immediately onto clearchannelsucks.org). May I also turn your attention towards the finger-licking delight which is the "D.C. Drinking Song" (Ronnie? Dispatch this one post haste to no less than Georgian psychobilly-deluxe James Richard Oliver, I implore you!) --and don't neglect to sit tight for the Secret Bonus Tracks either, especially number 16.

Yes, in an above-perfect world these Airport Noises would take off with all of the above abaord, plus their genuine pulveriser "Box" to boot, towards the nearest concert stage to tear some sonic walls straight on down. Failing such an epiphany however, I'll settle for this here incredibly smooth "Last Flight In" on digital disc, ma'am.
