Elefant
Gallery Girl (Kemado Records)

By: Alex Steininger

On the three-song Gallery Girl EP, Elefant, lead by Diego Garcia, offer a good prelude to their full-length, Sunlight Makes Me Paranoid. Whereas Sunlight Makes Me Paranoid is more polished, and tighter, on Gallery Girl they create heavy, loud indie-rock with a loose feel. Their new wave influences are still there, resulting in a dark, twisted indie-rock concoction that is both poppy and heavy at the same time. The band just seems less together, more chaotic, and, thus giving this EP a demo quality. But, it is rock 'n' roll, and shows the gritty side of the band, before they tightened up and recorded their full-length.
