The Wildhearts
Riff After Riff (Gearhead Records)

By: Alex Steininger

British rock act The Wildhearts' first domestic release since 1997's Endless, Nameless, their latest, Riff After Riff is an aptly titled collection of loud, sizzling riffs, hammering rhythms, and screaming vocals, all doused with plenty of melody, making this as infectious as it is fiery. Nothing can stop the outfit on this record. The volume is cranked up, the party is going full-blast, and so is the band. Add to that songs you can -- and want to -- sing along with and you have a record reminiscent of your favorite arena rock records, just a bit wilder and more out of control. Rock 'n' roll! I'll give it an A-.
