Hello Goodbye
Heart Attack (Racing Junior)

By: Alex Steininger

Amped up, distorted guitar-led indie-pop that would be light and jangle-y if it weren't for the noisy guitars pushing the songs into the garage rock realm. With sugary female vocals filling out the songs, with an in-the-pocket drum beat and sturdy bass to assist, this is simple, three-chord, no-nonsense rock 'n' roll that seemingly seems too plain for its own good. That is, until you hear the whole album and it starts to dawn on you. This is sticky, sweet indie-rock that holds no frills but plenty of thrills, the three chords enough to carry across the intensity of these melodic nuggets. Less is more here and it comes alive when the parts collide. I'll give it a B-.
