The Pieces The Pieces (Benchmark Records) By: Alex Steininger

Blending folk and pop, The Pieces' self-titled full-length is as rich as it is rustic, a melodic offering of beauty and depth, with just as much attention paid to the lyrics (sang by smooth, clear vocals) as there is to the music. It's a warm, exciting record that will have you singing along as much as you cuddle up and relax to it. The Pieces have created a strong, inviting record here; one that proves pop music can have soul. I'll give it a B.
