Get Along Like a House on Fire (Kismet Records)

 Tiger Mountain's pop-infused, folk-tinged brand of modern rock delivers hooks and edginess on Get Along Like a House on Fire, a thirteen track collection of biting, though sometimes grating rock anthems. From the swagger of "The Occasion", its arena-rock size played down with an indie-rock fervor, to the hook-laden gloss of "Now That You're On T.V.", or the quirky-pop-gone-lush of "Good Lie Down". Tiger Mountain can shake it up and keep things at odds while making it sound familiar and fitting, though their only downside is sometimes the vocals lack the luster of the music, giving the rough-around-the-edges bite to the music (most often a good thing), but on occasion bringing the song down. Overall, a rollercoaster ride of well-produced, solid songwriting, and punchy songs. I'll give it a C+.
