I am very partial to supporting local independent bands, and local punk bands in particular. Being from Maine, there is not the largest support system, but these guys truly are great. On to the music..... The music is hard punk rock with incredible speed at times and a great deal of originality. The vocals remind me (a small amount) of Jello Biafra of the infamous Dead Kennedys. The drummer sings a lot too, and there is a back up chorus which adds on those great gang vocals, giving them somewhat of a streetpunk sound on some songs. There are even two acoustic numbers which are little twangy and almost country, but keep some sort of weird edge to them so that they remind me a little of the Cramps. The most redeeming factor of this CD however, is the intelligent Anarchism included in their lyrics. They sing about injustice in Peru, welfare being the governmental way of keeping the poor down, humans who kill for a living, and the warriors of today, among other things. They really make you think and question your own complacent existence. They also started a great Anarchist organization called the A.L.U. (Anarchist Liberty Union) which has the goal of educating people about Anarchy so that we might have a world based on unity not fear (to put it extremely briefly).
