A Memory Of You (Heathendoom Music)

By: Jeb Branin

A perfectly fitting moniker for this band I must say. Dark, pulsing, gothic metal with a real classy feel and a lot of diversity displayed in only three songs. The first tune, "A Memory of You," is stark and doomy with a plodding pace and heavy, churning guitars that drive everything. "Black Sheep Ride" is surprisingly upbeat with several guitar hooks and memorable lyrical lines. This is the kind of music that GLEN DANZIG only wishes he could make. The last track "Verkopern" is taken from a demo and has a slightly muddy production with the vocals mixed too high. Musically it is an incessant gothic rocker with a pounding beat as its backbone. This is a great teaser for the band and is just long enough to peak my interest but not too long that I get bored, which is a real danger with gothic bands and me.
