 Envision Suzanne Vega jamming with Nine Inch Nails and then throwing in some hip-hop and you'd be close to Present, the debut solo effort from Angelique (she was previously lead vocalist for the Indians, who had one release and appeared on soundtracks for Kalifornia and Reality Bites). With this eclectic mix of everything from electronica and hip-hop to folk and rock with touches of jazz, psychedelia and soul, Angelique has struck gold with a superb, highly emotional release that sets her apart from the current crop of 'hot' female artists, but proves she deserves the notoriety that they're getting.
