Same Shit New Millennium (Sound Pollution)

By: Jeb Branin

Hot on the heels of the first U.S. release of "Lawless Solidarity" comes a new CD from MEANWHILE. I guess the band wasn't content with their first punch to the face and decided to make it a one/two combination... "Same Shit New Millennium" is another hard hitter. DISCHARGE influenced hardcore that has been processed through the Scandinavian underground which naturally means it is grittier, thicker and more devastating than 90% of the hardcore you are going to hear this year. The politically charged lyrics are pissed and raging although they don't totally forget how sadly amusing all of life's little ironies are. My favorite line is from "Stillbirth" (the irony is in the title folks) which goes "Nothing gets through. I live in a blob. Please make me feel. Stab me with a knife." Great stuff. Get it now so you can lord it over your friends how you "discovered" MEANWHILE before they did.
