Marooned Live (SPV/Steamhammer)

 Classic thrash metal re-issues abound in the SPV camp and some of their finest are the SODOM back catalog. "Marooned Live" captures the live fury of Germany's thrash metal sickos but it also captures the fun and games that SODOM were famous for. Sometimes the delivery is air tight and other times the songs are loose interpretations of the originals but every song is viscous, heavy, raw and SODOMized! If you are a SODOManiac then it goes without saying this album is a mandatory addition to your collection, but if you are just discovering these legends this album is a great place to start. The production is very solid with the bass and drums especially getting lots of room to breathe in the mix. Be warned however, there is no pretty boy metal here. This is raw, fast, meanspirited and abusive. The CD also includes two unreleased studio tracks.
