Rick Monroe Shame (Divorce Records) By: Alex Steininger
Full of life and energy, Rick Monroe plows through tight, aggressive folk-rockers. Some are right out front and happy to face the day ("Shame" and "Travelin' Song") while others hide behind slight sorrow as they try to find their reason for existence ("Suspicious Eyes"). But, no matter what, Rick Monroe makes sure the songs are soaked in passion and emotion, so no matter how he's feeling - up and ready to make you move or down and a bit introspective - you can rest assured he's giving it his all. I'll give this a B-.
