Dr. Speedlove Presents
Volume 2 (Invisible Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Any album that has Jared Louche vs. Martin Atkins, The Damage Manual vs. Orb, Meg Lee Chin vs. Martin Atkins, and Chemlab vs. Pig is obviously an album you don't want to pass on. Meg Lee Chin vs. Martin Atkins go at it on "Heavy Scene (radio edit)", a track you'll find on Meg Lee Chin's Junkies and Snakes. Atkins editing enhancing the already brilliant song, giving it a twisting edge that will dig into you until you can't take it anymore, let go, and then dig into some more.

The Damage Manual vs. Orb's "Sunset Gun (Fully Monty Sunny Orb Up Mix)" is a suburban dream turned nightmare. Starting out happy and sunny, it soon turns dark and wet, crashing up along side you and hitting you with ripping beat after ripping beat.

Jared Louche vs. Martin Atkins delivers a sunny, but slightly cloudy rendition of "Sexy Boy," the original (cover) off of Louche's cover album, Covergirl. And then there is Chemlab vs. Pig on "Vera Blue (edit), a song very unlike Chemlab's hard-hitting post-industrial hard rock.

Invisible's "family get-togthers", if you will, are always a party and a half. Some of the best industrial, post-industrial, and electronica-induced rock music you're likely to ever hear. I'll give this an A-.
