Truly Twilight Curtains (Sweet Nothing Records) By: Alex Steininger
Sweet, highly melodic pop songs with a bit of a wild side, Truly's Twilight Curtains, an album containing outtakes, singles, and b-sides, delivers dance-infused, psychedelic-pop, with a taste of stoner-rock for even more craziness. But that doesn't mean every song indulges in a variety of influences. The band is able to whip out a contagious 60's pop delight before bending your mind with an off-kilter pop ditty the next. Think of them as a versatile pop band that could do the Beatles-revisited thing like so many others, if they wanted. But they'd rather shake things up and make you wet your pants. I'll give it a B+.
