Heather Eatman Real (Eminent Records) By: Alex Steininger
Conflicted between run-of-the-mill bar rock and flushed out, lush pop songs, Heather Eatman's album is a combination of hopeful, promising pop smarts and muddy, bad funk-induced bar rock sure to go nowhere. The album has some high points, like Eatman's songwriting ability and pop abilities when she focuses. But, the rock attempts are spread too thin and out of focus. I'll give this a C-.
