Halfway To Gone
High Five (Small Stone Records)

By: Alex Steininger

Loud bar rock that neither goes anywhere or makes any real lasting impressions. Halfway To Gone is a party band at best, the band you go see to get drunk with at the local bar, go home, fall to bed, and live your day without even remembering the band that played the night before. Sure, you'll remember the hangover and maybe even some of the people you conversed with, or the stupid things you did, but the band will be a passing memory.

Though they are completely capable of hammering out some of the tightest, loudest mayhem rock you'll likely hear this year, they just have that bar band mentality oozing from their sound, lending credibility to the fact that that is all they're ever be. And if that is all they want, well, then there is nothing wrong with that. The CD is enjoyable for parties, though. I'll give them that. I'll give this CD a C+.15
