Tub Ring Drake Equation (Invisible Records) By: Alex Steininger
Very rarely does a band come up with something new and exciting, something that hasn't been done before in music. Sure, there are the bands that can re-create the sounds of the old with new flair, making it sound new and creative, but at the root of it is still a derivative sound. However, Tub Ring's Drake Equation manages to come very close to creating something that is charting on undiscovered waters. Vaudeville punk rock with an industrial spin and a pop sense, with even a bit of hardcore to the mix, Tub Ring's crazed sound pays off big on this album. One listen to this album and your jaw will drop. I'll give this an A.
