Lonely Kings Crowning Glory (Fearless Records) By: Alex Steininger
The Lonely Kings do what few pop-punk bands do, combining an understanding of pop music with a hearty amount of punk. Rather than delivering some watered down pop record sped up to try to pass off as punk music; the Lonely Kings take their time. They mix pop with punk in equal amounts, with the outcome a solid collection of songs that rip right through you with punk fury, hit you with intensity, yet still get you singing along and playing air guitar with a smile on your face. This is a refreshingly promising pop-punk release that tells me pop-punk isn't to be avoided like the plague. I'll give it a B.
