 Long out of print, They Love Those Who Make The Music and The Boom, The Motion and The Music are being re-released on Initial Records. Hailing from Kutztown, Pennsylvania, The Jazz June's debut and follow-up, respectively, show the growth and progression of the band, giving fans and critics alike a taste of what is to come.They Love Those Who Make The Music is a loose, youthful album with its charms. Very spirited, energetic, and ready to rock, the band cranks out pop-emo songs with plenty of noise and fury backing them up. The Boom, The Motion and The Music is just as furious, but this time around they're a bit more chaotic, blasting out rock cemented with more searing emo but less pop. The songs are punchy, delivering what most emo bands strive for, a rock record that proves they're not wimps, but shows the girls they can be emotional and wear their feelings on their instruments. These are both great re-issues showcasing the growth of the band, a most for fans who missed them the first time around, or for those not-so-familiar with the band. Though, if you have to choose, pick up The Boom, The Motion and The Music, it's a bit tighter and has more maturity in terms of songwriting. I'll give them both a B.
