Fiver Here It Comes (Devil in the Woods) By: Alex Steininger
The rock of Fiver is a blend of indie pop and subdued psychedelic rock. When the songs are slow, they float beside you, providing you with a bed to lay back and relax on. And when they rock, they play with your mind, because they never get too rocking, but have enough loud guitars and pounding rhythms to suck you in. The allure is the calmness of vocalist David Woody, vocals that perpetuate the psychedelic tendencies of the songs, but also help carry off the melodic hooks the band serves up. This is indie rock that doesn't want to stagnate and be called indie rock, so it incorporates other influences and takes a chance, successfully pulling it off and delivering a sonic mix of both Brit and American influences. I'll give it a B.
