Kennedy Kennedy (Sea Level Records) By: Alex Steininger
Exuding that "I'm a rock star" attitude, Kennedy's self-titled full-length has the same amount of pretentiousness that you'd find on a Dandy Warhols record, with half the talent. Lackluster psychedelic, swirling pop, ragged garage rock, and less-than-memorable lyrics, Kennedy's brand of Brit-pop crossed with garage rock seems forced. When they stick to straight-ahead garage rock ("Wake Up Motherfucker") they do fine, but more Brit influenced songs like "I Love Me" come across as amateurish. I'll give this a C-.
