 Volume 4 once again reunites Joe Jackson with his band, Volume 4 signifying the fourth go-round for the band. Twenty-three years has tempered the band, taking some of the juice out of the outfit. However, Volume 4 is Jackson's best pure pop record in over a decade, which in itself is enough to make you want to pick up this CD and enjoy it. It may not contain the gust or the glory of the earlier recordings, but it finds Jackson, and his band, in fine form, writing equally as moving, albeit softer, more settled and relaxed pop tunes. However, the bonus six song, greatest hits live EP is a real treat, and yet another reason to pick this release up. I'll give it a B+.
