Fast Eddie
Put On Your Rubbers (self-released)

By: Mike SOS

Fast Eddie's nine-track release may be playfully titled, but there's not a lot of playing around going on in PUT ON YOUR RUBBERS. While the musical atmosphere switches from track to track quicker than a Britney Spears concert costume change, the general feel of Fast Eddie's eclectic brand of rock is not unlike any post Faith No More Mike Patton project. Tracks like the reggae infused "Sunshine" or the driving swing of "Let's Park" show off the band's musical prowess and ability to delve deep and pull off blistering metal phrasings as well as free form jazz interludes. While this NYC based outfit's sound is hard to pigeonhole for the staunch, closed-minded music fan, Fast Eddie decisively offers something for those that yearn for something left of normal.
