Rue
Rue (Shifty)

By: Mike SOS

If you like your metal dark, brooding, heavy, and more stoned than a frat house Cheech and Chong film marathon, then you should check out the smoked-out strength of Rue. This Ohio-based quartet's nine-song journey takes you through similar paths shown to us by bands like Alabama Thunder Pussy, High on Fire, and Superjoint Ritual, as Rue's dense rhythms and earth-shaking tones awaken the sleeping demon in us all. Tunes like "The Locust" and "Stonersaurus" contain the eternally unforgiving stoner rock groove underneath all of the distortion and screaming, making Rue another fine outfit to tune in and burn out to, especially if you like it heavier than Fu Manchu and Nebula.
