 Split into three parts (tracks), Sigur Ros'Ba Ba/Ti Ki/Di Do EP is twenty minutes of music written for Merce Cunningham's Split Sides dance performance. Originally meant to accompany his dance, it stands well on its own, too. Including snippets of vocals on Di Do, which ends the album with a heightening effect, taking the album beyond its sparse, airy origins to a climatic ending, layers of noise closes things out. However, the rest of the album adheres to the less-is-more aesthetic and gives the listener an intriguing listen, to say the least. With the opening two tracks a lot less hectic than the finale, light notes lay atop each other, creating a graceful balance of mystique and ambiance, creating the perfect backdrop for almost anything, especially a dance performance. I'll give it a B.
