 Warm, vibrant, acoustic-based pop-songs from down under, Australia's Tim Reid writes songs that help summer live all season long. Invoking memories of the Beach Boys through frolicking summertime bounce, Any Given Day doesn't feature songs about surfing and hot girls, it is a lot more lyrically deep then that. But, it is hard to pay attention to the lyrics when the hooks and melodies are so hot, not unlike the sun, beaming brightly into your eyes (and ears) as you bask in their sunset-like beauty. Any Given Day is strong and refreshing, the type of late night record you can put on to wind down to, or an early morning record to get your day going in the right direction. It is power-pop without the rock, focussing more on writing tight melodies and an unforgettable vibe. I'll give it a B+.
