World Drifts In - Live at the Barbican London (Quarterstick Records)

By: Alex Steininger

If the allure of a jaw-dropping live performance by Calexico wasn't enough to attract you to a DVD, what would attract you? How about one from the Barbican in London? One that lasts an hour and 29 minutes and includes 20 songs? That would be enough to make me want to check out the fusion of post-rock experimentation and alt-country/Americana roots delivered with a strong pop sense that has made Calexico a favorite among fans and critics alike.

But World Drifts In - Live at the Barbican London offers much more than that, including a documentary by Calexico mastermind Joey Burns, a tour film, another documentary, videos for four of the band's songs, and an interview with the band.

Yes, World Drifts In - Live at the Barbican London is jam-packed full of Calexico goodness, making it a must-have for fans of the band. I'll give it an A-.
