Rex Aquarium Privacy (Sea Level Records) By: Alex Steininger
Rex Aquarium's Privacy is an exercise in indie-rock experimentation, trying to keep things poppy, though still shake things up with some abrasive rock. The abrasive part, unfortunately, are the vocals and some noise from the guitar, while the rest of the music keeps things light, bouncy, and even danceable. However, no matter how strong the music, the vocals always take things down a notch, sounding as if they're trying way too hard to exert energy and excitement. I'll give it a D.
