 Poppy indie-rock overshadowed by a clever, sly darkness, and a tongue-in-cheek quality that makes front man Eric Elbogen's reserved, deadpan voice perfect for the music, Say Hi To Your Mom's third full-length, Ferocious Mopes, once again finds the band creating memorable lyrics atop memorable melodies. With quirky keyboards adding depth to the songs, and Elbogen's fondness of indie style giving the songs a cooler than thou presence, this is music indie rocker hipsters should be flocking too. Elbogen's wit as a writer and ability to write subtle melodies that don't instantly hit you, sometimes not even entering your mind until a few tracks later, make Say Hi To Your Mom as cool as their name. I'll give it a B+.
