Sepsism
Purulent Decomposition (Repulse Records)

By: Jeb Branin

With only a limited discography SEPSISM have managed to catapult themselves to the forefront of the underground gore grind scene over the last 5 years or so. Their phenomenal "Severe Carnal Butchery" demo remains one of my favorites in the genre to this day. "Purulent Decomposition" is the band's first full length release and is comprised of tracks from the scrapped "Necrotic Flesh Rot" EP as well as old demo tunes and three new tracks. The low tuned sickness of the band is greatly enhanced by their ability to pull out all the stops and rip through their music with reckless abandon. In a vein not completely dissimilar to the might EXHUMED, they transcend the limitations usually associated with bands in the gore scene and manage to vomit out totally overwhelming grindcore savagery. Like a flesh eating fungus they grow on you and consume you.
