American Standard The New American Standard Classics (Maggadee Records) By: Alex Steininger
Crunchy modern rock that is trying to pass itself off as punk, American Standard comes off as a bright, slick, hook-laden band able to get you to sing along and move to their music, no matter how generic it is. The vocals are nothing spectacular, but the band's intensity and fire push the music to the next level, giving it the kick it needs to make a lasting impression. Pop-punk kids will find this very delightful, and fans of modern rock that gets stuck in your head every listen no matter how annoying will also like this album. I'll give it a C.
