 If you want to be prepared for the resurgence of New Wave then look no further than the new disc from Baltimore's The Animatronics. As you wind your way through 2000: The Year Of The Future you'll find a collection of well-crafted, hook-heavy pop tunes whose primary influence appears to be Devo, but also shows elements of Gary Numan, Missing Persons, The Cars and even bits of Bowie and Wire. Don't get the wrong idea though, The Animatronics aren't just an 80's retread, but have actually taken these influences and created an enjoyable disc for the 21st Century.
