Retsin Cabin in the Woods (Carrot Top Records) By: Alex Steininger
Soft, intimate, and seductive, Retsin's Cabin in the Woods is a laid-back, warm summertime affair of guitars and banjos, among other things. Like a good country record, played by fans of pop and indie rock, Cabin in the Woods is as true to its roots as anything could ever be. The music is down-home and inviting, while the vocals befriend you as they tell you the tales of its adventures. Mastery of the instruments helps further the album's effect as one of the most intricate, intimate releases of the year. I'll give it a B+.
