Exclaim Critical Exploder (Sound Pollution) By: Jeb Branin
I've waited anxiously for this one! EXCLAIM take their hyper-thrashing HC to new extremes on "Critical Exploder", their debut full-length album. If you are a fan of this band you'll recognize the whirlwind thrash rife with legitimate hooks but what is new is the totally noisy "fuzz"core sound. Initially you might think your speakers have blown and are giving you white-noise distortion but after a few tracks it becomes evident that the fuzz is a part of the overall delivery. The distortion adds to the overall aural devastation of EXCLAIM making their music even more deadly than before. As thrash bands get cleaner sounding and more "math" it is great to hear a band get noisier and go straight for the throat!
