DVD: Faces of Death Collection (Gorgon/MPI) By: Randy Harward
As stated in the Last House On the Left review, people are sick. We want to see death and dismemberment, provided the victims aren't ourselves or loved ones. Faces Of Death, in scratching that itch, has become an institution, but has come under scrutiny. Some people think what they see is fake, others are happy to believe it's real. I'm happy with the latter, as enjoyment for any film requires the ability to suspend belief. However, to attempt to do so for the duration of this four-disc collection (all four Faces films, plus The Worst of Faces Of Death and an apt short feature, Faces of Death: Fact of Fiction?) is a fool's game. For your own sanity: watch in small doses. (A)
